  1. In a Boston or whisky glass, mash (muddle) the gooseberries with the sugar using the end of a clean rolling pin.

  2. Add the gin, elderflower cordial and lime juice. Shake well, then strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top up with lemonade and garnish with some fresh gooseberries and elderflowers.


  • 4 gooseberries
  • 2 tsp white sugar
  • 50ml/2fl oz gin
  • 25ml/1fl oz elderflower cordial
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • traditional cloudy lemonade, to top up
  • gooseberries and fresh elderflowers, to garnish
