Spicy mackerel fillets with horseradish cream

Method


  1. Rub the mackerel pieces with the turmeric and curry powder.

  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the mackerel and fry for two minutes on each side.

  3. To make the horseradish cream, place all the ingredients into a small bowl and mix together well.

  4. To serve, place the spiced mackerel fillets onto a bed of rocket with a spoonful of the horseradish cream on the side.

Ingredients

For the spicy mackerel fillets

  • 1 mackerel fillet, cut in half
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tsp medium curry powder
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

For the horseradish cream

  • 25g/1oz fresh grated horseradish
  • 150ml/5½oz double cream, whipped
  • ¼ lemon, juice only
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard

To serve

  • 50g/1¾oz rocket leaves
