Method
                      -                  Fry the chopped bacon in a large deep pan until it begins to brown. Add the garlic and onion and cook gently for two minutes, then add the cream and peas and bring to the boil. 
-                  Add the lettuce and boil for one minute, seasoning, to taste, with salt and freshly ground black pepper. 
-                  To serve, pour into a bowl, sprinkle with the parsley and top with the cooked bacon slices 
                          Ingredients
                          -  3 slices bacon, finely chopped
-  1 garlic clove
-  ½ onion, finely chopped
-  100ml/4fl oz double cream
-  110g/3½oz frozen peas
-  1 little gem lettuce, leaves separated
-  salt and freshly ground black pepper
-  2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
-  3 slices bacon, cooked until golden brown
