Vietnamese-style crispy pork and citrus salad

For the crispy pork, heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium-high heat. Season the pork strips on both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper and fry for 8-10 minutes.

Add the sesame seeds and red onion and fry for a further five minutes. Add the honey, stir well and cook for one minute, or until the pork is completely cooked through.

Meanwhile, for the dressing, place all the dressing ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

For the salad, place the cheese, onion, orange and herbs into a bowl and mix well. Pour over the dressing and stir to coat.

To serve, place the salad onto a plate and top with the crispy pork. Serve with lime wedges and toasted ciabatta.

For the crispy pork
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 x 150g/5½oz pork fillet, cut into thin strips
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- ½ red onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp clear honey
For the dressing
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp cider
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- pinch chilli powder
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the salad
- 100g/3½oz cheddar, grated
- ½ red onion, finely sliced
- 1 orange, peeled and segmented
- handful fresh mixed herbs (such as parsley, dill, chives)
To serve
- 1 lime, cut into wedges, to garnish
- 2 slices ciabatta, toasted
