Method

Place the milk, cream, sugar and vanilla pod in a saucepan and bring to simmering point. Add the rice and simmer gently for ten minutes, or until the rice is tender.

Serve in a bowl, garnished with a twisted slice of orange.

- 300ml/10fl oz whole milk
- 100ml/3½fl oz double cream
- 2 tbsp caster sugar
- 1 vanilla pod, split lengthways
- 150g/5½oz jasmine rice
- 1 slice orange, to serve
