Method

Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the onions and cook for 10 minutes over a gentle heat.

Add the apples and cook for 2 minutes. Then add the rest of the ingredients and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2oz (50g) butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 dessert apples, peeled, cored and diced
- 6 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp sweet mincemeat (see separate recipe)
- 2 tsp dark brown muscovado sugar
- salt and pepper
