For the mango, preheat the grill to its highest setting.

Place the mango into an ovenproof saucepan, sprinkle over the chilli and icing sugar and place under the grill until the surface is golden.

For the sauce, place the sauce ingredients into a heavy- bottomed saucepan over a medium heat, and cook until the sauce thickens.

To serve, put the mango and the ice cream into a serving bowl and drizzle over the chocolate sauce.

For the mango
- ½ mango, scored diagonally with skin turned inside out
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tbsp icing sugar
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
For the sauce
- 150g/5½oz cocoa powder
- 75g/2½oz caster sugar
- 2 tbsp boiling water
