Heat the oil in a frying pan. Fry the bacon rashers until crisp and golden on both sides.

Spread the butter on the bread slices, then place the bacon on the bread. Sandwich together and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Cut into triangles on a chopping board.

Serve on a plate with a dollop of ketchup to the side.

- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 50g/2oz streaky bacon
- 25g/1oz unsalted butter, softened
- 2 slices thick-cut white farmhouse loaf
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
